Agile Project Management:

Agile project management methodology is based on a different paradym to the traditional "Plan the project, then execute the plan" or water-fall approach. In Agile project management, score may be variable and change will be rapid and constant.

NOTE: If you have not joined the PMI South Western Ontario Chapter yet OR have joined PMI and the South Western Ontario Chapter only within the past 72 hours, register for this course as a GUEST. Please bring your receipt for PMI® and SWOC memebership to the first class.

The primary purpose of the Project Management Institue Agile Certified Professional  (PMI-ACP®) ® Certification Exam Preparation course is to prepare the participant for the PMI-ACP® exam. The course provides an overview of the principles, concepts, processes, tools and techniques of Agile project management.

The Project Management Institute South Western Ontario Chapter offers the PMI-ACP® Certification Exam Preparation course to SWOC members, full-time post secondary students, and members of partnering organizations. Non PMI® and SWOC members may register for the course and join PMI® and SWOC prior to the first class.

The course features 24 hours of in-class instruction with follow-up web-based learning opportunities including online discussion and sample PMI-ACP® exams. The course covers Agile project management topics, including:

  • Certification Overview
  • The Agile Framework
  • Agile and Project Planning
  • Scrum, User Stories, Product Backlog, and Kaban
  • Cost and Time Estimation in Agile
  • Retrospectives and Metrics

In-class sessions include presentations, discussion, exercises and sample exam questions.

The course instructors are certified Agile practitioners from the South Western Ontario Chapter, each offering a session in their area of expertise. Each participant will receive the GR8PM course package developed by John Stenbeck. The kit includes:

  • The PMI-ACP book
  • The Flashcard deck
  • A 180-day subscription to the GR8PM online PMI-ACP Exam simulator
  • Student Notebook

At the completion of this course the learner will be able to describe in detail Agile project management principles, concepts, processes, tools and techniques.
