Please join us for the inaugural joint event between PMI’s Canada’s Technology Triangle (CTT) Chapter and South Western Ontario Chapter (SWOC). PMI-CTT and -SWOC will host live events in Kitchener and London, respectively, and share their respective live stream for participants in the other location. The evening will consist of two engaging 1-hour sessions:

Topic 1: A Data-Driven Approach to Deliver Strategic Projects (PMI-SWOC)

In today’s organizations, the desires of business units for new products and enhancements, and the appetites of senior leadership to approve more and more projects for those products and services, far outstrips the PMO’s ability to realistically deliver on everything.  For many organizations, this bottleneck grows and grows to the point of total apathy and acceptance as a ‘necessary evil’.  Instead, we will look at how organizations already in this position can bring governance to it, manage the backlog as well as intake, and ensure that the projects that are being delivered are delivering real business value.

In this presentation we will explore project management maturity and satisfaction data from over 500 companies and discuss best practices to improve those scores by delivering high impact projects.

Topic 2: Practical Leadership Concepts for Turning Strategic Intent into Action (PMI-CTT)

Hoshin kanri (also known as Strategic Alignment, Policy Deployment or Catch Ball) is a method for ensuring that the purpose and
strategy of an organization connects with the work happening at the front line. This eliminates the waste that comes from inconsistent
direction and poor communication at all levels. This TOYOTA’S hidden and most powerful methodology through which everyone in
the organization is connected to one purpose and everyone pulls in the same direction at the same time, everyday and everywhere.
Through two case studies participants will learn about Hosin Kanri and will be able to create a Strategic Alignment for their own
organization, department, division or section.
